Bashir Tofa, a former candidate of the National Republican Convention in the June 12, 1993 presidential election has called on both Christians and Muslims to unite in other to vote out bad leaders in the 2023 General Elections in Nigeria,
Tofa explained that the country is filled with polluted ambitions and something must be done about it. He made this call during an interview with journalist at the opening ceremony of a two-day symposium in Abuja which was tagged ‘Threat to the unity of the Ummah and the future of Nigeria, citizenship and nationhood.’
According to Basir Tofa, Christians and Muslims must come together so as to be able to bring about the much desired change in the country, he stressed that disunity and antagonism will not help the country to achieve anything.
Speaking further, the former NRC candidate said that Nigerians must realise that there is an utmost need to live together with fellow citizens in harmony and peace. He added that every Nigerian should practice what their both religion teaches which is peace, unity and progress.
“We have to respect each other’s religion and even help in any way we can and that is the way we can form a country which can graduate into a nation. The more we stay as we are and begin to degenerate, the more problems we will have in our country.” Bashir Tofa said.
