Yunusa Tanko says Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s (LP) presidential candidate in the 2023 polls, will be holding a town hall meeting with Nigerians in the UK on May 6.

Tanko, who is the spokesperson of the Peter Obi Media Reach (POMR), said Obi will thank Nigerians in the UK for the role they played during the 2023 presidential election.

He said Obi will also use the opportunity of the meeting, which is organised by the Obidient Movement in the UK, to connect with his supporters and encourage them to keep the spirit alive ahead of future elections in Nigeria.

“The major agenda of the meeting is just to speak with Nigerians in the UK and appreciate them for the work that they have done, especially during the campaign for the 2023 presidential election,” Tanko said.

“He wants to connect with them and encourage them to keep the spirit alive.”

On the same day, Obi will speak on ‘The role of African leaders in promoting global citizenship and social responsibility’.

The speaking event is organised by the Anglia Ruskin University Nigerian students association, in collaboration with Cambridge University Nigerian society, Tanko added.
