A serious gas pipeline leakage has been reported in Aguobiri community, located in the Southern Ijaw LGA, Bayelsa State.
Following a distress call, the Bayelsa State Commissioner for Environment, Hon. Ebi Ben Ololo, and the Commissioner for Mineral Resources, Barr. Peter Afagha, visited the scene to assess the situation.
Hon. Ololo assured he will ensure immediate steps are taken to halt the leakage.
He stressed the need for urgent intervention, given the environmental and health risks that could arise if the issue is left unaddressed.
