Fubara

The Rivers state government has debunked the viral news on social media that the state governor Siminalayi Fubara is shutting down NNPC limited and oil companies in the state over the court order, urging the CBN to stop allocation to the state.

The state government in a statement by the commissioner of information Joe Johnson made available to newsmen, said the report was not only false but propaganda from the imagination of the author and enemies of the state.

According to him, the story was circulated by an inconsequential and unverified medium whose main objective is to heat up the polity and cause unnecessary debate to distract governor Fubara.

Governor Fubara according to the information commissioner is committed to the rule of law and does not rely on unconventional and crude approaches to respond to matters of governance. He urged Rivers people and Nigerians to discountenance the spurious and fake report, saying Governor Fubara at no time contemplated or directed such needless order of shutting down the economy for any reason.
