Gov. Otu swears in newly-elected Local Government Chairmen

Governor, of Cross river state Bassey Otu, has sworn in 18 local government chairmen and vice chairmen who emerged victorious at the November 2 local government elections in the state.

The newly elected chairmen and their vices all emerged on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

The party recorded a total victory in the elections, winning all 18 chairmanship seats and 196 councillorship positions.

Speaking at the event, which was held at the temporary office of the Governor in Calabar, Governor Otu charged the new leaders with the responsibility of serving their local governments diligently.

He underscored the importance of transparency, accountability, and the ‘People First’ governance approach.
