Jackson Ude, a political commentator, has sparked a fresh debate over Vice President Kashim Shettima’s recent actions and expenditure. In a post on social media platform X, Ude questioned Shettima’s alleged dissatisfaction with his role and the apparent underutilization of his N21 billion official residence, built using taxpayers’ money.
“Shettima has not spent a single night in his new residence and continues to stay at the old VP house, Aguda House,” Ude stated, raising concerns about accountability and waste of public funds.
Ude also highlighted a pattern in Shettima’s travels, noting that the Vice President often departs for foreign trips whenever President Bola Tinubu embarks on official missions abroad. He cited Shettima’s recent visits to Côte d’Ivoire and Sweden during Tinubu’s travels to France and the UK, respectively.
“Why leave the country without a leader? If the kitchen is too hot, please leave!” Ude remarked, suggesting a rift in the dynamics of the presidency and questioning the Vice President’s approach to governance.
