Following an impressive opening day victory over the Pharaohs of Egypt, the Super Eagles will now turn their attention to their crucial meeting against Sudan today. Nigeria are currently the outright leaders of group D and are clear favorites to claim all three points in a fairly easier tie against Sudan, who are ranked as the 125th team by FIFA.
As things stand, a win for Nigeria today will guarantee them a place in the knockout rounds of the tournament.
As a matter of fact, the Super Eagles could even seal top spot in Group D with a win against Sudan and a draw in the other fixture between Guinea Bissau and Egypt.
Interim boss Augustine Eguavoen and his boys are expected to deliver the victory over the ‘Falcons of Jediane’ at the Roumdé Adjia Stadium in Garoua later today; anything other than a win will be considered a disappointing result for the Eagles.
