Ahead APC Guber Primaries: Ogiemwonyi Denies Withdrawing From Race

Frontline APC governorship aspirant for the September 19th 2020 polls, Engr. Chris Ogiemwonyi, has denied insinuations that he had withdrawn from the race.Unconfirmed reports had claimed his withdrawal from the race to support one of the other aspirants.
       
A statement, signed on his behalf by the Director, Media, the Ogiemwonyi’s political family, Mr. Jeffrey Igbinigie, maintained that Engr. Chris Ogiemwonyi is still in the race, emphasizing that he had never, at any time, contemplated withdrawing from the race, even as it described the fake report as a cowardly, erroneous and misleading attempt by political opponents and detractors to orchestrate disaffection.

The statement admonished such political opponents to rather advance their own profiles and agenda instead of resorting to selling cheap lies and propaganda to the unsuspecting public.The statement further insisted that “Engr. Chris Ogiemwonyi is fully in the race to salvage the state from the bad and retrogressive government it is currently saddled with. He has no intention of stepping down for anybody.
       
“Engr. Ogiemwonyi is the best aspirant vying for the office of the Executive Governor of Edo State and also the most qualified to steer the affairs of the State.In the last few days, our principal has intensified consultation with stakeholders within and outside the State on the way forward for our great party.
     
“We would not be intimidated to give up on our struggle for a better Edo. We appreciate the sustained support from thousands of our supporters who have called to express their displeasure at the false information peddled by our detractors. We use this opportunity to thank all our supporters for the trust and loyalty. We remain confident that victory is sure; and together we shall liberate the state.”
