Airliner Carrying 100 Passengers Crashes Near Kazakhstan’s Almaty

A passenger plane carrying around 100 people has crashed near Almaty airport in Kazakhstan.

Kazakhstan’s Civil Aviation Committee said at least seven people were confirmed dead.

Images posted on social media showed several rescue personnel next to the wreckage of a Bek Air aircraft.

According to flight tracker, a Fokker 100 aircraft of Bek Air was scheduled to leave Almaty at 7:05am local time and arrive in capital Astana at 8:40am.
