The political unrest that occurred within Akure metropolis on Saturday night and Sunday morning has led to the arrest of the popular Ade Basket and five others who are suspected to be working for a particular governorship candidate in the state, thereby causing unrest.
Though the political unrest has been put under check by the Department of state security service (DSS), the Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in the state, Mr. Adebo, popularly known as Ìdájọ́, is said to be on the run, hearing DSS raid in the state, Ìdájọ́ was said to have been working and going around causing unnecessary unrest in the state capital.
Several people were injured on Saturday night which eventually led to the death of a young man at the Oke Jebu axis of the metropolis.
There are feelers however that the continuation of the fracas again on Sunday morning must have prompted the men of the DSS to clamp down on the trouble makers.
The whereabouts of the NURTW Chairman was unknown at the time of filing this report.
