Yesterday in Awka, the Anambra State Fisheries and Aquaculture Business Development Agency inaugurated her executive for the Tilapia producing sector.
The inauguration ceremony which took place at the Agency’s Conference hall was performed by the National Vice President of Tilapia Aquaculture Developers Association of Nigeria (TADAN) Mr. Nurudeen Tiamiyn and thanked the state chapter for their efforts in extending the tentacles of the group.
Speaking during the the occassion, the Chief of Staff to the Governor of Anambra State, Mr. Primus Odili said; ” I can bet that if we decide to call this a project for each and everyone of us, Anambra State will compete favourably not only within the country but globally and that should be our target”. He expressed optimism that the new executive will perform far above expectation.
On his part, the MD of FABDA who was also elected as the president of the chapter, Mr. Emeka Iloghalu while making his remarks noted that the sector was formed to help in mass production of Tilapia fish in the State aimed at boosting the economy. He pointed out that fish bussiness is a worthwhile venture in the state because according to him, Anambra has the market, the population and good government policy on fish production and other services.
In his vote of thanks, the Vice President of TADAN Anambra State Chapter, Mr. Gabriel Muoneke, appreciated Anambra State Government for the initiative and also the national body for answering their call.
Other offices elected were; Innocent Okeke – Publicity Secretary, Mr. Tony Odili – General Secretary, Anozie Chigozie – Financial Secretary and Mr. Somadina, Welfare.
