The governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodinma was reportedly attacked by some irate youths on Sunday. The youths of Mmahu community who upon sighting the Governor’s convoy started shouting “Onye Oshi Vote, Onye Oshi Vote” started throwing bottles and weapons at the Bulletproof SUV of the Governor, which eventually damaged the Governor’s car.
This happened just a week after the former Secretary to Imo state Government Barrister Uche Ogbuagu Onyeaguocha claimed on channels television that Imolites are waiting for him on the streets of Imo state. After the supreme Court verdict on 14yh January 2020 sacking Ihedioha, Uzodinma has been described as a Supreme court Governor.
Protest upon protest has taken place in the state both from the rulling All Progressive Congress and the number 1 opposition party the people Democratic party.
Imo people in their protests claimed that the only man they voted for was Emeka Ihedioha, and not Uzodinma. The tussle led the opposition PDP to call for a review, which the Supreme Court threw away, citing that, they cannot reverse their judgement.
