
The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt. Gen. Tukur Yusufu Buratai, has received the ‘Fellow, Wildlife Society Of Nigeria’ Awards.
Akelicious reports that the Award was received on his behalf by the GOC 2 Division Nigerian Army, Maj Gen Anthony Bamidele Omozoje.
Nigerian army verified Twitter handle, said the COAS was honoured at the Wildlife Society of Nigeria Annual Conference 2019, for his contribution to wildlife conservation in Nigeria.
“The conference organised by the Wildlife Society of Nigeria took place at the Otunba Subomi Balogun Conference Centre, University of Ibadan, where intellectuals had the opportunity to brainstorm on Wildlife Conservation international best practice”, it said.
“The theme of the conference was “Wildlife Management Contribution To The Diversifying Economy”. At the conference, the need to balance wildlife resources utilisation and conservation for human sustainance was identified”, the statement added.
The GOC 2 Division thanked the organisers of the conference for honouring Buratai with the Award, “for his contribution to wildlife conservation in Nigeria.”
