
The beleaguered president of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko has left his country to meet his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin in the island resort of Sochi.Lukashenko has faced protests since he controversially secured another term, almost a month ago, extending his twenty-six years in power.
The meeting between both leaders is even as thousands of Belarussians rallied on highways on Monday to demonstrate against the election, which the opposition insists was rigged
