Less than 5 days after we published a report on the near comatose state of Enugu State Agency for Community and Social Development, CSDA, the Board of the Agency has sacked their General Manager, Mr. ThankGod Onoja.
Our correspondent who reported the imminent collapse of the agency should Mr. Onoja continue to head the place might have forced the Board to rise up to their responsibility.
Our source said the Board in their emergency meeting on Friday, 5th November unanimously sacked the GM for gross incompetence, disregard for due process, law and chronic nepotism.
Our efforts to reach members of the Board for official comment on the development couldn’t yield result but on of the members who answered his phone call simply said: “please call me back, I’m in a meeting.
When our correspondent pushed further for comment on the sack of Mr. Onoja, he went further to say: “Yes, he has been sacked by the Board and he has been served his sack letter today. We will commence the urgent reorganisation of the Agency.”
When asked if our report on the 4th of November pushed them into action, he simply dropped the call and didn’t take subsequent calls.
Enugu CSDA is one of the delivery platforms for the upcoming NG-CARES.
We had reported that through CSDA, over 400 projects were delivered in the CSDP project.
