The drama at Plateau State House of Assembly on Monday took a dangerous dimension as the embattled Speaker Nuhu Abok Ayuba and 10 other members of the House were whisked away by security agents after Journalists and demonstrators were teargased .
The drama which unfolds itself at about 3:20 pm when the Plateau state Commissioner of Police, Edward Ebuka, led the 11 members of Plateau Assembly to four awaiting Hilux vehicles and took them to an unknown destination.
The members who were unruffled told newsmen While being taken away that “we are firm and resolute in our duties to the Plateau people that voted us to the House in our struggle to fight to a logical conclusion until the speaker is reinstated.
Hon Zingtin Sochang, member representing Langtang South, said “we are now being bundled into four Hilux Vehicles by security men to a yet to be known location and if after 20miniutes you call us and no response, you should know that we have been taken to an unknown place” He stressed.
As at the time of sending this report, there is tension within Jos city over the unfolding drama at Plateau House of Assembly.
Spokesman of APC in the state Sylvanus Namang in a statement made available to Daily Independent charged the Lawmakers to realize that interest of Plateau state is bigger than that of any individual.
The opposition party, the Peoples Democractic Party in the state John Akans Condemned the role of the state commissioner of Police Edward Ebuka in the whole drama.
