
Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari has sanctioned a special scale and new retirement age for teachers to celebrate World Teachers day.
Recall that Nigerian teachers protested for the increase in their retirement age, adequate welfare and increase in salary.
Today, the announcement of the President kindness was made by the minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu, in commemmoration of Teacher’s day.
The president increased the number of service years for the teachers from 35 to 40 and adjusted the salary scale of public staffs.
According to the President Buhari, the new adjustment in teacher’s salary scheme is to encourage teachers to perform better in their respective duties.
