A management expert of Rivers extraction, Chief Dr. Nnamdi Ogbogbo JP was last week weeks in Abuja chosen by the leadership and members of a formost Nigeria-based NGO – Joint Mobile Sanitation Agency of Nigeria to be their President for a term of two years.
Talking to Journalists after his announcement as the new President, Chief Ogbogbo hinted that he was chosen after serving the organization for a period of ten years as a member of her Board of Trustees. He further said that based on his experience and the trust reposed on him by leadership and members nation-wide, he will justify the confidence reposed on him. He informed that Joint Mobile Sanitation Agency of Nigeria is an NGO that partners with the federal, state and local governments, (ALGON ) and her security agencies to create ease of doing business on Nigeria highways accross the 36 states of the federation. He said that the NGO is concerned about food security in the country and understands that trouble-free highways in Nigeria will ensure smooth hullage of several agricultural products round the country, thereby making available products round the states for Nigerians.
He maintained that his organization recognized the above factor and the recent hikes in food prices, hence their collaboration with the three tiers of government and security agencies to ensure that hoodlums that would want to thwart the effort of stakeholders in ensuring smooth hullage of goods in Nigerians highways come 2021 are wiped out.
As a first step and in recognition of the importance of education and enlightment of the stakeholder, Chief Ogbogbo disclosed that the organization under his able leadership is putting up a high caliber Workshop titled
BUILDING PARTNERSHIPS FOR FOOD SECURITY IN NIGERIA. The Workshop is slated at Abuja on 28th of November, 2020. He said that the event which will see the gathering of many high officials of government, Unions and Organisations involved in the transportation of goods in Nigeria highways will be for the purposes of educating stakeholders and general public on what to expect and what his organization is out to achieve on the issue of ease of doing business in the nation’s highways come 2021 and going forward.
The new president of JOMSAN mentioned that already that they have their branches in the 36 states of the federation to ensure the success of their assignment. He remarked that he will be introducing the use of Marshalls which will soon be recruited among the youths for effective carrying out of their tasks.
He said that in the forth coming Workshop in Abuja, members of the various Unions and Organizations that are involved will get adequate information and education on various levies and taxes required to be paid by them to the various tiers of government which are the major cause of problems for them on the highways with a view to keeping them abreast.
Chief Ogbogbo then appealed to the federal government for support to enable them achieve their set goals while he also called on members of his organization and the general public for understanding and support to ensure that they record huge success in their assignment come 2021 to help play their role in setting the nation back on the path of economic recovery given the effects of the covid19 pandemic.
He also seriously warned against the use of unauthorized associations to certify local government permits.
