Coalition Lauds 26 Governorship Candidates for Stepping Down for Ugwuanyi

A frontline socio-political pressure group known as Enugu Youth Coalition has hailed the governorship candidates of 26 political parties in the state for stepping down and endorsing the re-election bid of the state governor, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of the PDP.

In a statement signed by the national coordinator of the coalition, Dr. Edwin Obune, the group urged other governorship candidates of the remaining  parties to step down for the governor, saying it’s a mark of respect for the existing ‘triangular equilibrium’ in the state which is based on equity and balance in the distribution of power in the coal city

The statement further noted that since the Enugu East Senatorial District and Enugu West Senatorial District of the state have ruled the state for eight years, equity demands that the last of the three Senatorial Districts of the state which is Enugu North North Senatorial District where the incumbent governor of the state hails from should be allowed to complete it’s own part of the eight years agreement which started in 1999.

The group further noted that anybody contesting against the God-fearing governor of the state is not only destined to waste his money but also will be ostracised in the state in future political arrangements of the state.

The group however called on the people of the state to continue in their unyielding supports for the governor by coming out on March 2nd to cast their votes for the Umbrella logo of his party, an exercise which will ensure that Enugu State remains in the Hands of God where peace and development thrives.
