Have you heard of such names as Atedo Peterside, Tam David-West, Tekena Tamuno, Nimi Briggs, Barineme Fakae, Hebert Wiggwe, among others? They all have one thing in common: they are world class technocrats and, are all Rivers people.
On Thursday, March 25, 2021, Dakuku Peterside converged the Presidency, Executive Governors, Ministers, top political brass, captains and heads of private and public sectors at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja to share his testament of stewardship as the DG of NIMASA (2016-202).
At the glorious event, he formally presented his book: Strategic Turnaround.
In four years, Peterside turned around NIMASA in what is arguably one of the greatest manifestation of vision, determination and panache in a public office.
Only the irrepressible and golden Amazon, late Dora Akunyili achieved such a measure of success and grit during her tenure as the DG of NAFDAC.
For good measure, Dakuku Peterside was elected twice to speak for Africa as far as maritime administration was concerned.
Rivers State must indeed be proud of such a son, who has proven that the State is blessed with technocrats that can compete globally.
In the words of Sir Winston Churchill, “Never give in except to convictions of honor and good sense.”
Congratulations Dakuku Peterside, Ph.D
