Charmed by the operational efficiency of the Cross River State Traffic Management and Regulatory Agency, (CRTMRA), Delta State Road Traffic Management Agency (DESTMA), is seeking the support and training capacities of the agency to improve its traffic management in the state.
While lauding Governor Ben Ayade for putting up a formidable and efficient team headed by the Director General of CRTMRA, Mr Godwin Nyiam, the Director General of the Delta State Traffic Management Agency, Navy Commander Samuel Azubuike Idah (rtd), said they were in the state to understudy Cross River, having diligently followed its successful traffic management proficiency.
Idah who was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Transport, Mr. Gaius O. Erikume, during a working visit to Calabar, recalled a paper presented by his Cross River counterpart at a workshop organised by the Federal Road Safety in Abuja, which drew wide commendation from the Federal Corp Marshal.
Addressing Commrade Nyiam and his team, Idah said: “Cross River State traffic agency under the headship of Comrade Godwin Nyiam shows excellent commitment to traffic management which other states need to copy to improve their operational performance.”
According to the DG of the Delta State traffic management agency, “We are impressed by the technical and manpower capacity of your agency, and which we are desirous as a state not only to partner but also to copy.”
Continuing, he said: “At the last traffic management workshop in Abuja, the Cross River State Traffic Management was exemplary and received overwhelming commendation by the Federal Road Safety Commission for the efficient way it has been managing traffic in Cross River.”
Other members of the team from Delta State included Engr. Atufe Patrick, Director Technical Service; Mr. J. Onakpor, Director of Finance; Engr. Edema Francis, Director of Operations as well as Mr. Nkeonyeilo Anthony, Director of planning and Research.
