The Secretary to Ebonyi state government and Coordinating Commissioner Kenneth Ugbala made this known yesterday while briefing news men in Abakaliki the Ebonyi capital
Akelicious news gathered that Ugbala said the suspension of Cletus Nwakpu became necessary following the report against him from Fiscal Responsibility Commission
According to Ugbala, Cletus Nwakpu’s act breached the oath of his office and other accusations of financial misappropriation against him. Adding that there are some sector of the matter that is in court and council is restricted to attend to such matter that is in court, but directed that when the court procedures are concluded, then state government will take the necessary action.
Ugbala further said the newly sworn in Special Assistant to the Governor on road maintenance Mr Frank Ngbo will collaborate with the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on road maintenance Ali Odefa to make sure all roads and potholes are maintained
In his words “This meeting was held with the need to continue piloting the affairs of this state and we thank God that His Excellency is stronger and he is very sound in health.”
“Today, EXCO approved that the sharing of the Palliative that is meant for COVID-19 should start this coming Saturday and it will be done ward by ward, polling units as already agreed. It will be left in the hands of the highest stakeholder of that polling unit who will take responsibility so that if anything happens re can hold such person accountable.”
“So the long awaiting palliative will be shared to Ebonyians.”
“Some of these palliatives were mainly donated by Federal Government. The state government purchased greater part of the palliative and separate bodies and individuals equally donated to the state.”
“So his Excellency has approved that the sharing should start immediately and the sharing is devoid of political party, devoid of any interest to ensure anybody who is an Ebonyian and everyone in Ebonyi state.”
“The Council also considered report against the Coordinating officer of FADAMA III, Dr Cletus Nwakpu following the report from Fiscal Responsibility Commission and directed the suspension of FADAMA III Coordinator from office for an act that is against the oath of office and some accusations of financial misappropriation and other conduct that is not of public office holder and there are some sector of the matter that is in court and council is restricted to attend to matter that is in court, directed that when the court procedures are concluded, then state government will take the necessary action.
Meanwhile, the Nwakpu has been suspended.”
“Also, council gave approval for the maintenance of some roads owing the potholes that we are experiencing in some of the streets.”
“That the newly sworn in SA to the governor on road maintenance following the help of the SSA to the governor on road maintenance, Chief Ali Odefa, should be working with him so that all the portholes within the streets of the town will be maintained.”
“Council equally swore in the new SA, Mr Frank Ngbo, who is now put of hard work in the words of our governor as APC member converted to PDP.”
