The Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, Uche Ekwunife has resumed projects flag-off and inspection across the Senatorial District, promising that she will continue to improve the education infrastructure in the zone. She described investment in the education sector as key to human capital development.
Ekwunife made this known on Tuesday, March, 16, 2021, while flagging-off the perimeter fence she attracted to Agulu Grammar School in Anaocha LGA, Anambra State.
Welcoming the Senator who was represented by a delegation led by the former Commissioner for Women Affairs Lady Henrietta Agbata, the Principal of the School, Revd. Divine Nnadi on behalf of the Anglican Archbishop, Province of the Niger, Most Revd. Alexander Ibezim thanked God for using Ekwunife to remember the school. He said that he was happy witnessing the ground breaking ceremony of the project.
Speaking further, Revd. Nnadi commended the achievements of the Senator especially in education sector. He prayed God to bless her abundantly.
On his part, the former Principal of the school, Mr. Sunday Obineme said that Ekwunife has through the project brought light to the school. He noted that due to financial constraint it was difficult for the school management to embark on the fencing project and thanked Ekwunife for making it possible for the management.
Appreciating, the Vice Principal Academics, Mrs. Eucharia Anaeto thanked Ekwunife for the project. She narrated the challenges the school faced before the commencement of the project and prayed God to bless Ekwunife with more leadership assignments.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the school management board, Dr. Ferdinand Obi said he was very happy Ekwunife attracted the project to the school. He said that the school which is in dilapidated state is feeling the representation of the Senator. He assured of their support and prayers towards Ekwunife’s guber aspiration.
On behalf of the Old boys, Dr Dona Ndigwe conveyed his gratitude to Senator Ekwunife, noting that the Senator has done well with the mandate given to her by the people of Anambra Central Senatorial District and deserves to be given a greater responsibility.
Speaking on behalf of the students, the Senior Prefect, Master Samuel Ugochukwu thanked Ekwunife for attracting the project to their school. He prayed for God’s blessings upon her.
Earlier, the Lady Henrietta Agbata led committee paid homage to the traditional ruler of Agulu, Igwe Innocent Obodoakor who gave his blessings to the committee ahead of the flag-off ceremony.
