The former Deputy Senate President and former Speaker ECOWAS Parliament while addressing the members of a support group for his 2023 Governorship Ambition in Enugu State, Door2Door Support 4 Sen. Ike Ekweremadu who came to sympathize with him over the death of his younger brother, reiterated his commitment towards giving everybody equal opportunity to succeed under his watch come 2023.
Ikeoha as he is fondly called maintained that a new era will emerge whereby somebody from Anambra or Imo but has been living in Enugu State for a very long time will be able to work in Enugu and as well as contest for any political position. He buttressed his point on this very issue by using other countries as example whereby some Nigerians are elected members of their parliaments such as US, UK, Italy etc.
Sen. Prof. Dr. Ike Ekweremadu promised to change the narratives so that everybody in the state whether he or she is from Enugu State or not and he or she is contributing positively towards the growth and development of Enugu State will have the same opportunity in terms of employment, admission, political positions etc just like every Onye Enugu State.
While thanking the members of the Door2Door Support 4 Sen. Ike Ekweremadu, Ikeoha expressed his gratitude and joy for identifying with him and his family now that they are mourning over the death of his younger brother Late Chief Mathias Ekweremadu.
Mr. Onyeka Nwabueze who was among those who led the members of the support group to Ikeoha to sympathize with him and his family thanked Ikeoha for the wonderful reception and also introduced the support group to him for the first time. He equally assured Ikeoha that God will surely give his family the fortitude to bear this great lost. Mr. Basil Okochi was also among those who led the support group to Ikeoha.
