
There is an intervention fund of N5 billion earmarked for the six geopolitical zones and Abuja to set up of a model Academic Publishing Centres (APCs), to provide opportunity for the country’s writers, thinkers and artists to produce indigenous books, to discourage overseas production.
This was made known by the Board of Trustees of The Tertiary Education Trust fund, TETFUND, during an assessment visit to the Academic Publishing Centre, situated at the Modibbo Adama University of Technology (MAUTECH), Yola.
The Chairman and the Executive Secretary of Fund during the hand over of the North-East Academic Publishing Centre in Yola said, the N5 billion set aside for the setting up of similar centres across universities in the 6 geopolitical zones of the country is to aid indigenous academic publications in the country’s tertiary institutions.
