The cause of the fire outbreak is yet to be ascertained but the damage caused could be due to the nature of things being sold at the market which are mainly flammable materials.

In line with determination of the firemen to respond as they receive any distress call, firefighters had a sleepless night and struggles; and with the application of chemical foam compound, they were able to fight and control the fire.

Recall that after the unfortunate Ochanja Fire Outbreak, Gov Willie Obiano ordered immediate recruitment, training and retraining of Anambra Firemen; he overhauled the State’s Fire Service; and donated tens of equipment including Quick Response Trucks, Fire Trucks, Chemical Foam Compounds, etc for improved firefighting.
