Forestall Further Violence, loss of live and properties in all the boundary disputes between Ebonyi and Cross River State - Francis Ogbonna Nwifruru

The Ebonyi House of Assembly Assembly has condemned the repeated attacks and threats of invasion against Ekoli Edda and Unwana Communities in Afikpo South and Afikpo North Local Government Areas of Ebonyi State by unwanted elements from Abanwan, Egbor and Ipene Communities in Biase Local Government Area of Cross River State

The Speaker of Ebonyi state House of Assembly Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru made this know in his social media handle

Nwifruru said the death toll and wanton destruction of properties associated with the Erei farm settlement in contention is alarming

He said Ebonyi state house of assembly is calling on the swift intervention of the National Boundary adjustment commission on the settlement in dispute and the unconditional release of the abducted hostage from Ekoli Edda

Nwifuru said the house is also drawing the attention of the National Assembly, Cross River State Government and Cross River State House of assembly to forestall further violence, loss of live and properties in all the boundary disputes between Ebonyi and Cross River State

Akelicious news report that the motion was moved through a matter of urgent public importance moved by Hon. Nkemka Okoro Onuma member representing (Afikpo South West) and Hon. Mrs. Ngozi Lilian Eziuloh member representing (Afikpo North West).

In his words: “Today at plenary, my distinguished colleagues and I condemned in its entirety, the repeated attacks and threats of invasion against Ekoli Edda and Unwana Communities in Afikpo South and Afikpo North LGAs of Ebonyi State, respectively, by unwanted elements from Abanwan, Egbor and Ipene Communities in Biase LGA of Cross River State; and the alarming death toll and wanton destruction of properties associated with the Erei Farm Settlement in contention.”

“We equally called for the swift intervention of the National Boundary Adjustment Commission on the settlement in dispute and the unconditional release of the abducted hostages from Ekoli Edda. In the same vein, we drew the quick attention of the National Assembly, Cross River State Government and Cross River State House of Assembly to this matter to forestall further violence, loss of lives and properties in all the boundary disputes between Ebonyi and Cross River States.”

“This motion was through a matter of urgent public importance sponsored by Hon. Nkemka Okoro Onuma (Afikpo South West) and Hon. Mrs. Ngozi Lilian Eziuloh (Afikpo North West).”
