Nigerian entertainer turned politician, Tony Muonagor, popularly known as Tony One Week, has been appointed by Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State recently to be his Special Adviser on Diaspora Affairs, Indigenous Arts, Culture and Tourism.
The good news came to the public notice on social media on Wednesday.
In a short statement posted on the social media, Tony One Week thanked Governor Obiano for finding him worthy to serve the people.
” I pledge to do my very best in this new assignment. Odogwu Omambala… Daalu. God bless u sir. God bless Anambra State,” the gyration master said.
The multi-talented entertainer and later day politician has been there before. He sat in the hallowed chamber as the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) candidate representing Idemili North constituency at the Anambra State House of Assembly.
This was from 2011 to 2015. He even emerged a minority leader and some of his colleagues affirmed that he had the highest number of motions in the House. One of them revealed that ‘Honourable Tony Muanagor’ moved over “23 motions and three bills in less than four years in the house” and that these motions are related to road, education, erosion and social welfare for his constituency.
Tony Muanagor aka Tony OneWeek is one name that can’t be forgotten in the Nigerian Entertainment Industry having contributed immensely in Nollywood and the music sphere.
Getting his big break in 1996 after the release of his hit Gyrate, which was like Nigeria’s second National Anthem and theme song for the super eagles, ever since then, the Gyration master hasn’t looked back as he kept on progressing and even participating in active politics.
