Gov. Ugwuanyi Asks Community Leaders To Protect Infrastructure In Enugu State

Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State, South East Nigeria has called on community leaders in the state to ensure effective protection of government infrastructure in their communities.

Ugwuanyi gave the directive at the commissioning of newly tarred 22.443 km Neke- Mbu – Ogbodu Abba-Obollo Etiti Road in Isiuzo Local Government Area of the state.

Governor Ugwuanyi said his administration remains committed to the establishment of Enugu State Rural Road Maintenance Agency for the enhancement of the durability and serviceability of rural road infrastructure.

He commended the world Bank and French Development Agency for assisting the government in the realization of the project.

Ugwuanyi said the rural road project was awarded under the phase one roads of the Rural Access and Mobility Project (RAMP – 2) in the state.

The rural road which connects Isiuzo and Udenu Local Government Areas will ease movement of goods especially the rural farmers.

The event attracted government functionaries, community leaders and other stakeholders.
