It is no longer news that Governor Hope Uzodimma has flagged-off the construction of the Owerri – Orlu and Owerri-Okigwe road.
Expectations are very high especially from Imolites of what the road will look like after the construction and most importantly the materials used in the work.
For many years, Imolites have seen several administrations award contracts of road construction and at the end, they become rhetorics and the road remains in its dilapidated state but today, The Governor has paid 15 percent of the contract sum for the work to commence in earnest.
It is important for the purpose of clarity that Imolites understands that our Governor got a good bargain with the construction company as the total cost of the two roads amounts to N55billion for a total of 129 kilometers length of roads for both the Okigwe and the Orlu stretches, from Owerri.
This is a good bargain for the Government, I must say.
These critical infrastructural projects will spin the socio-economic activities of the State in the positive direction and make life easier for the people.
Ndi Imo, this is just the beginning!
