Late President Shehu Shagari’s son, Aminu Shagari has apologised to Former President, Goodluck Jonathan for working against him during 2015 Presidential election.
According to Aminu, he said was part of the people who brought down Jonathan’s government to ensure Muhammadu Buhari wins despite that as a military officer he led a coup that dethroned his father in 1983.
In response to him, Goodluck Jonathan accepted his apology and forgave him. He said doesn’t keep grudges for anybody because he believes no one can do to him what God doesn’t permits.
The three-term House of Representatives member, Aminu Shagari wrote a statement to the former president for forgiveness.
Goodluck Jonathan replied him by thanking him for the apology and he assured him of his forgiveness.
Reacting through his facebook handle, Jonathan wrote:
“Dear Honourable Aminu Shagari,
Thank you for your apology. However, I never took offence. My firm belief is that I am a pencil in the Hand of God.
Therefore, I have no enemies to fight, because of my confidence that people can only do to me what God permits.”
