The Special Adviser to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Drainage and Water Resources, Joe Igbokwe has said that he wants to be Governor if an additional state is created in the South East region. During an interview with BBC Pidgin, Igbokwe was asked to share his opinion on how the issue of alleged marginalization would be solved and he said that the creation of a sixth state in the South Eastern region might solve the issue.
Igbokwe said, “the only thing I want the federal government to do is to give Igbo people an additional state. We work hard in this country and if all the 36 governors in Nigeria gather, we would be the least with 5. When they give us that sixth state, I want to be the governor because I have worked for it. This means that we would have 6 governors, more senators and house of reps members.”
