The Nigerian political atmosphere was yesterday, thrown into a frenzy over some photos that suggested former aviation minister and PDP chieftain, Chief Femi Fani Kayode was plotting a move back to the ruling APC.
In the photos that have since gone viral, FFK was seen with the Kogi state governor and also with the chairman of the APC Interim committee, and the governor of Yobe state, Malam Mai Buni.
Although the reason for the meeting then, was not disclosed, feelers had it that FFK was seriously plotting to find his way to the APC.
Although FFK has now given an explanation to the ‘Nicodemus’ meeting, he never denied or agreed to the fact that the meeting had something to do with his move to the party.
He rather explained that he went to have discussions on the way forward for the country.
In a shocking response to his visit to the APC stalwarts, the Director-General of the APC governors forum has insisted that FFK can not be accepted into the party.
This was made known in a statement signed by the Director-General of the Progressives Governors Forum, Dr. Salihu Lukman, who warned the leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) not to admit former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, into the party.
Lukman argued that it was not right for anyone to just wake up and decide to join the party even after he must have made some serious allegations against the party and its leaders in the past.
In 2015 during the build-up to the elections, one man that publicly ridiculed the president then was the fmr governor of Akwa Ibom state and the current minister of the niger delta, Godswill Akpabio.
He called him a tyrant, said he had no certificate, called the APC an association of aggrieved politicians but yet, he was welcomed into the APC with open arms and given very juicy appointments.
