In a statement issued and signed on Tuesday by the Chairman, Dr. Qasim Akinreti, and Secretary, Mr. Alfred Odifa, the Council described the swearing-in as an epitome of the beauty of democracy.
The Council noted that the combination of the two men would bring more meaningful and purposeful development to Lagos State, given their track records of impressive performances both in public and private sectors where they had served.
The Union also recalled the tenacity of purpose in their electioneering campaigns while urging the governor and his deputy to employ the same vigour for governance in tackling perennial problems facing Lagosians, especially in the areas of roads, housing, water, electricity and workers’ welfare.
The Union promised to sustain the robust working relationship that had always existed between the state government and the council.
Meanwhile, the council, through the statement, has enjoined the Sanwo-Olu – led administration to complete all unfinished projects embarked upon by the Ambode administration.
The Union prays to Almighty God to guard and guide them aright, as they steer the ship of the Centre Of Excellence to the ‘Next Level’ and wish them a successful tenure.
