Ndi-gbo United Forum (NUF) Worldwide a sociopolitical organization wishes to express her heartfelt sympathy to the Executive Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano, the government and good but mourning people of Anambra State on the tragic fuel tanker incident that snatched innocent lives and destroyed properties worth millions of Naira.

This unfortunate incident is one too many as this is not the first and second one. Its avoidable because if necessary and decisive actions were taken based on available reports, the last one would have been avoided.

It has no doubt raised the fear bars as everyone is curious when next another incident would take place and has placed anticipatory uncertainties and burdens at this inglorious moments of precarious economic situations in the country.

Granted that lost lives cannot be redeemed but the dead and victims must either not die in vain or lose their properties without necessary compensations.

Further to the above, NUF is strategically calling on both the Federal government and government of Anambra State to independently set up a commission of inquiry. The commissions will unravel the remote and immediate causes of the incessant falling of tankers at that same stop with a view to ending such horrible disaster. Those in dereliction of duties that led to this  should be apprehended and made to face the wrath of the law. We cannot continue to watch the already suffering and hardworking citizens end up painfully in a twinkle of an eye. President Buhari’s condolence message should be accompanied with relief materials and other forms of helps to assist the survivors. Government must pick medical bills of the survivors.

Finally, NUF prayers and thoughts are with the families of the bereaved as we pray that the Almighty God accept their souls in eternity. Our warm sympathy is also with the victims that sustained various degrees of injuries and especially those that may live in permanent disabilities. To those that lost their buildings and properties, we ask that government should show forth with assistance to ameliorate their pains.
