Former Governor of Abia State and Senator-elect for Abia North Senatorial district, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu, Thursday met with Senate Leader, Ahmed Lawan (APC, Yobe) behind closed doors in the nation’s capital, Abuja.
Details of the meeting is still sketchy as at press time. Igbere TV, however, gathered that it may not be unconnected with the ninth Assembly Leadership.
Igbere TV recalls that Kalu, winner of the March 23 National Assembly election in Abia North, has on several occasions called on the leadership of his party, the APC to zone the Deputy Senate President position to the South-East zone to enable him vie for the position.
Lawan on the other hand, is the adopted candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress for the position of Senate President of the incoming ninth National Assembly.
