NUJ AWARD: PDP Stalwart, Innocent Nwachukwu Rejoices With Abia Speaker, Rt. Hon Chinedum Orji

Sir Innocent Nwachukwu, a renowned entrepreneurer and Stalwart of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, in Abia State, has described the award bestowed on the Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji as Distinguished Friend of the Media” by national body of the Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ as well deserved.

Reacting, in a statement made available to newsmen on Thursday, in Umuahia, Sir Nwachukwu extolled the Abia Speaker, Rt. Hon Chinedum Orji’s humane leadership style and lauded him for deepening press freedom in the state.

Sir Nwachukwu said the award would further propelled the People’s Speaker, Rt. Hon Chinedum Orji in encouraging journalism profession to continue thriving in the state and Nigeria as a whole.

The Party Chieftain, on behalf of his Family, Innocent C. Nwachukwu Foundation, and the good people of Umuahia East (Ibeku) felicitated with our exceptional leader on the meritorious honor by the Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ.

The Awards ceremony which held at the prestigious and famous Ladi Kwali Hall of the Abuja Sheraton Hotels & Towers was the grand finale of activities by the NUJ to mark the World Press Freedom Day which is usually commemorated on May 3 of every year.

National President of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Comrade Christopher Isiguzo said the recipients of this award category were selected after sifting through many nominations received from Journalists and members of the Nigerian public.
