…as Edo Professional Drivers on Wheel endorse APC Candidate
The candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Sept. 19 Edo Governorship election, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, on Wednesday, said the embattled Governor Godwin Obaseki failed in governance because he had no agenda.
Pastor Ize-Iyamu made the declaration at a meeting with members and leadership of the Edo Professional Drivers on Wheel (EPDW), monitored by ChrisOsaMedia Group, in Benin City.
ChrisOsaMedia reports that the APC candidate, who was at the meeting at the instance of the EPDW president, Comr. Adams Ehi, popularly known as Shaba, was endorsed by the Association for governorship.
Addressing the gathering, Pastor Ize-Iyamu said unlike Obaseki with no agenda for the people, he(Ize-Iyamu) has come with an agenda – the SIMPLE agenda – promising not to fail or disappoint when elected.
He said, “I don’t promise and fail. I am not an ingrate. I only promise what I can do. I have an agenda unlike the other man that made several oral promises and failed to deliver on those campaign promises of his.”
“He failed (the people) and you could not hold him accountable because it was undocumented,” Pastor Ize-Iyamu said.
He said it was Obaseki who recently decamped to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) that failed the people and not the APC, adding, “my government will have no reason to destroy Edo peoples property or fight the people.”
Instead, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu said if elected, his government will assist the people, while attracting jobs to the state and training the youths on various skills and empowering them to start up.
Responding, the EPDW leadership lamented that four years after the Obaseki government came into power, it failed on its campaign promises including on drivers welfare but introduced multiple taxation.
The Edo transporters, therefore, pledged to campaign vigorously for Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu and the APC and deliver him in the September 19 gubernatorial election.
