PDP chieftain lauds Abia Speaker’s developmental strides, describe lawmaker as Servant leader

The Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji has been commended for his quality representation since assumption of office as the lawmaker representing Umuahia central constituency.

Sir Innocent Nwachukwu, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), made the commendation in reaction to the presentation of midterm scorecard by the Abia Speaker, which contained in a release issued to journalists in Umuahia, on Saturday.

Sir Nwachukwu said Hon Orji has changed the narrative of legislative governance through lawmaking which he opined, had greatly impacted positively on the lives of the people of Umuahia central state constituency, the state and the country as a whole.

He further noted that the Speaker has enhanced the welfare of the people through attraction of meaningful Infrastructural projects which among
are the ongoing construction of Isieke Ibeku Mini Stadium, Umuokpara Mini Stadium, Saint Stephens Mini Stadium, Umuahia North LGA, Ariam Usaka in Ikwuano Mini Stadium, Ikwuano Mini Stadium ( inside the premises of Ikwuano LGA), Ubakala Mini Stadium
Saint Michael’s Primary School, Umuahia North, Afugiri Mini Stadium, Reconstructed road at Umueze, Urban Ward 3 Borehole project ( the 9th borehole drilled by the Speaker in Urban Ward 3), Umuohu Okpula Borehole Project.

He further applauded the Speaker for building of houses to the less privileged, empowerment of Abia youths, academic scholarship to indigent and non indigent students.

The Renowned business mogul described Rt. Hon Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji as a servant leader and attributed the huge developmental strides recorded in the state by the Governor Okezie Ikpeazu-led Peoples Democratic Party administration to the unshakable supports and cooperation of the Speaker with his colleagues in the state assembly.

The Party Stalwart noted that history will forever remember Rt. Hon Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji for his leadership acumen anchored on transparency and accountabliity.

The Chairman of the Innocent C. Nwachukwu Foundation Worldwide on behalf of his family, associates, friends and the people of Umuahia east state constituency congratulate Rt. Hon Chinedum Orji for the indelible and exemplary leadership demonstrated since his emergence as member representing Umuahia central constituency in the State Assembly.

He prayed to God Almighty to continue to guide and strengthen the distinguished Speaker in his services to the state.

Sir Nwachukwu however urged the Umuahia central constituents to continue to sustain their supports to Abia Speaker as he work tirelessly to bring more dividends of democracy to the doorsteps of the people.

Meanwhile, the speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji, said he was always open to constructive criticisms and looked forward to advice and suggestions that could make him perform even better and deliver greater democratic dividends to the people.

The Abia Speaker gave the admonition at the presentation of his midterm scorecard to the immediate constituents of Umuahia Central State Constituency, acknowledged that although he is Speaker for all Abians, and that everything he does as the state’s number one lawmaker, he does for the interest of all Abians, it was imperative he reported back to the people of his immediate constituency from where he was elected into the Abia State House of Assembly.

Rt. Hon Orji who committed to reach a minimum milestone of 70% completion level in all the projects embarked upon by him by December 2021, disclosed that solar powered street lights, which he received from the Governor will soon be installed in different schools in the constituency so as to enhance their security especially at night.

According to the number one lawmaker in the state, “One of the main reasons I called this meeting is to hear from you all; to know the areas we are doing well and the areas we need to improve upon as no man can claim to know it all.

“In whatever area you feel I need to improve, kindly feel very free to tell me. I am ready to take your advice and see how I can implement your suggestions as possible as I can because democracy is all about the people”, Orji said.

Similarly, constituents of the Umuahia central state constituency, Chief Uche Akwukwaegbu and Chief Charles Ogbonna have lauded the numerous projects attracted by the Speaker, Rt. Hon Chinedum Orji to the constituency and even beyond, and those he has embarked upon directly by himself.

They however described the Speaker’s scorecard as the incontrovertible evidence of dividends of democracy to the people.
