Pensioners Protest 4 Months Unpaid gratuities In Imo State

Hundreds of pensioners on Tuesday took over major streets in Owerri, the capital of Imo State; protesting 4 months of unpaid gratuities by the State Government.

For several hours, the placard carrying pensioners blocked major highways in Owerri; obstructing vehicular movement in most parts of the city and insisting that government pay them the arrears of four months pension.

The Senior Citizens said they had no other option than come on the streets after all appeals to make the state government settle the arrears had failed.
