Police Arrest 3 For Drug Trafficking, Distribution In Kano

Kano State Police Command has arrested three people for alleged drug trafficking into Kano from Onitsha and supplying same to thugs in the state.

 The command, which disclosed this through its spokesman, DSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, said the suspects, Rabi’u Idris, 22, Abdullahi Muhammad, 20, and Sanusi Sani,23, are indigenes of Safana Local Government Area (LGA), Katsina State.

 He said among the illicit drugs and intoxicants that were in possession of the suspects include; Tramadol tablets, Exol tablets and Diazepam, adding that the sum of N150,600 in denominations of N50 notes, N500 notes and N1,000 notes proceeds from the sale of the illicit drugs were recovered from them.

 “On October 20, 2021 at about10: 00am, a report was received that a group of drug dealers were supplying drugs to some thugs (‘Yan Daba) and other suspected criminals within Kano metropolis.

“On receipt of the report, the Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Sama’ila Shu’aibu Dikko, instructed a team of Operation Puff Adder led by SP Buba Yusuf to arrest the culprits.

On preliminary investigation, the suspects confessed to being drug dealers. And that they supply the drugs from Onitsha, transport and sell them in Kano State. They further confessed to have purposely come to Kano from Katsina State for illicit drugs business,” he said.
