ASABA- As the call for Party deregistration continues to generate tension amongst Stakeholders, Delta State Chairman of Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) and the State Chairman of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Hon. Hon. Afamefune Enemokwu had enjoined the Leadership of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to be very cautious of the move as their is Political Connectivities between INEC and IPAC.
Delta IPAC Boss made this assertion recently in Asaba, Delta State capital during the Interactive session between Delta IPAC, all the Ninety (92) Political Parties Chairmen and the Leadership of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) towards the mitigation of, or promotion of the Wayforward towards
Sustainable Political Peace amongst Stakeholders in the State, alternative political conflicts resolution strategies and the existence of Political Parties internal Democracy at the INEC Conference Hall.
He opined that deregistration of political parties may not solve the problem bedeviled in the political space, added that INEC may not exist if there were no political parties for the body to serve as umpire rather he appealed to INEC give more time to Chairmen of Political Parties to put their house in order, and as well give maximum technical support to Political Parties in the State hence their activities is self- sponsored so as to strengthen their Individual Party’s Constitutional, and regulatory framework, policies that encourages internal Democratic mechanisms to cope with the financial burden been borne by Party Chairmen as adminstrative costs.
Hon. Enemokwu who stated that his regime as IPAC Chairman will be a blessing to all Political Parties Chairmen, that one will be strip off his Party unjustly, then appealled to all Political Parties in the State to avoid actions that is inimical to their party’s Internal Democracy and advised those Political Parties Chairmen I’m the State, who are on acting capacity to ensure that they conduct their congresses by duly informing the INEC and other concerned Stakeholders.
The Interactive sessions saw the participation of the entire INEC Management led by the Executive Secretary of the Commission, who represented the REC, the Adminstrative officer, INEC Director of Evaluation and Political Parties Monitoring (EPM), INEC Legal adviser and others to mention a few and a greater number of the total 92 Political Parties Chairmen in the State who contributed immensely to the Interactive sessions; and shared different opinion or views on possible Solutions towards political cohesion amongst Stakeholders such as INEC, IPAC, Government, Security Agencies,
