Pro APC Group Meets Dr. Sokonte Davies At Party Secretariat

With the reconstitution of the Care-Taker-Cpmmittee of the All Progressives Congress in Rivers State which saw the emergence of former NPA Director, Dr. Sokonte Davies, as Chairman, political analysts are of the view that an end to the protracted crisis rocking the party seem to be on sight.

This view is in line with the opinion of former member of the Rivers APC State Working Committee and leader of I See You Group, Hon. Chizi Nyeomasila, who led stakeholders of the pro-APC group on a solidarity visit to the CTC Chairman at the party’s office in Port Harcourt.

Speaking at the event which was held in full compliance with the NCDC regulation against the spread of Covid-19, Hon. Chizi Nyeomasila expressed delight over the return of normalcy within the party and commended the CTC Chairman for his speedy intervention and relentless efforts in harmonising all dissenting opinions with cross-purposes in a bid to repositioning the party and bringing her back on track.

He described Dr. Davies as a man of proven integrity coupled with an appreciable degree of honesty and a symbol of unity, whose antecedents projects an array of hope of a stronger, healthier and progressive Rivers APC.

While urging party faithful to que behind the undisputed leader of the party and Transportation Minister, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi, Chizi Nyeomasila emphasized the need for factional heads to jettison their hostilities and tow the path of peace by submiting to the mandate of the Care Taker Committee which is anchored on reconciliation and bringing all stakeholders to board.

Furthermore, the former Rivers APC Auditor hailed Chief Victor Giadom for quickly summoning the NEC meeting and dissolving the National Working Committee of the APC to save the party from eminent collapse.

He said Chief Giadom has proven himself to be a patriot for sacrificing self on the alter of reconciliation, stressing that the former National Chairman will be remembered for his public spirit and display of sound leadership qualities within the short period he held sway as chairman of the ruling APC.

On his part, Director General of the group, Agi Gospel Chikwe esq. informed the party chairman that they were in his office to identify with and congratulate him on his new assignment in the party.

Barr. Agi expressed confidence in the administrative competence of the chairman, assuring that the leadership and members of the group will lend him the necessary support needed to achieve the mandate of his committee.

Responding, Dr. Sokonte Davies commended Hon. Chizi Nyeomasila and his team for their efforts in sustaining and building on the achievements of the party in the state through regular media engagements with party faithful and Rivers people especially, during the period of internal unrest within the party.

The party chairman said there is need for a more collaborative effort from stakeholders to collectively set a new path for the party to save the State from the reckless PDP administration that has thrown the state and her people into severe hardship.

He said his stay in office is going to be a short one, but assured that the party will be repositioned to seize power from what he termed “the Taskforce Government of Gov. Wike” whose antecedents and approach to governance has defeated the very essence of “the Social Contract” between the leaders and the led in a representative democracy.

While appealing for calm from all quarters, the Rivers APC Chairman assured that the party will be launched to the winning ways within the shortest time possible.
