Ramadan: Pray Against Covid-19 Pandemic, Kalu tell Muslims


A Chieftain of Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP and Director of Protocols, Youth Alliance of the party, Chief Dr Emeka Kalu has enjoined the Muslim community to pray against the ravaging effects of Covid-19 pandemic.

Kalu, who is also the Director General of Atikulated Agenda 2019 stated this in a statement released to Nigerian Whisperer and signed by him.

As the Ramadan fast begins today, I enjoined the Muslim community to use this opportunity provided by the holy month to pray fervently for an end to the coronavirus pandemic as well as for unity, peaceful co-existence and development of Nigeria.

I enjoin you all to intensify your prayers against the coronavirus pandemic and other societal challenges facing our nation.

This year’s holy month is coming at a time the world is battling to contain the ravaging effects of Covid-19 pandemic, hence the need for all to intensify prayers and seek God’s intervention against the plague.

This Ramadan fast avails you a golden opportunity for spiritual rejuvenation and devotion through supplication and other acts of worship.

As you pray and observe your fasting, always observe the standard safety guidelines and other protective measures against covid-19 such as avoiding mass gatherings, maintaining social distancing and personal hygiene while undertaking their daily routines, expressing optimism that ‘we will surely overcome the new challenges and emerge stronger.

Always demonstrate the spirit and ideals of Islam by living according to the tenet of the religion, which promotes peace, kindness and obedience.
