Security: Umahi accuse Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps for compromising

The Ebonyi state government has accused men of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) for aiding arm robberies to rob traders shops at St Margate Umahi International market, Abakaliki the Ebonyi state capital

The Ebonyi state Governor David Umahi made this known in Abakaliki the Ebonyi state while addressing Ebonyi State Community Policing adversory Committee, Debt Management Board Committee, Domestic Arreyers Committee and service chiefs in that state

Umahi said CCTV mounted at different locations in Ebonyi state captured when the robbers were negotiating with men of Nigeria Secuirty and Civil Defence Officers who where at gate for about 45 minutes and thereafter they gave them assess to rob people’s shops.

He called Ebonyi state Commissioner of Police to quickly arraign them in court while he is expecting the Nigeria Security and Civil defence Corps to be quickly dismiss them

Umahi further cautioned the state Commissioner for Internal security and other Special Assistants to the Governor on Secuirty saying that their jobs are on the line. Adding that If he hears one single arm robbery attack again in Hus state he will take their jobs.

AKELICIOUS gahtered that Umahi told the Nigeria Inspector General of Police Mohammed Adamu through the Director Inspector General of Police, Iinformation Communication Technology (ICT) DIG Celestine Chinweze Okoye that states can not fund community policing officers adding that police must complete the training they have started and likewise fund them
