Must police shoot at civilians to enforce the lockdown order?
Yesterday, it was at Umunze that the police shot the tyres of one Henry Mokwe from Umuchu in Aguata LGA. The police shot his tyres for daring to come out against the lockdown order, even though the man said he was going to the bank to get small money and feed his family.
Today at Nkpor, a young man was allegedly killed by the police. An eye witness said the police was dispersing some youths who were drinking at a joint when the victim who was coming out from his house, saw the chaos of everyone running and wanted to run as well but fell down.
He was alleged shot by the police.
This has triggered a serious riot right now at Nkpor new tire.
Was police given an order to shoot at sight? Are there no civil approach to arresting the offenders of the lockdown order?
This is unacceptable.
