We Should Thank God That The Civil War Didn't Lead To Permanent Division Of Nigeria - Obasanjo

The former Nigeria’s number one citizen, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo has spoken this afternoon. Chief Olusegun Obasanjo was the President of Nigeria from 1999 till 2007. He is a man of his word and man who is loved by many.

OBJ as he is popularly called made it known that he is very happy that the civil war did not cause the country to divide. He stated that this as he was speaking on AIT. He said “we should thank God that the civil war did not lead to the permanent division of Nigeria.”

The former president also stated that he is very happy that Biafra didn’t break away from Nigeria.

He said “I am happy that Biafra didn’t break away. We are better off together as one country. Some people think that Lord Luggard made a mistake, but I don’t think so, because God does not make a mistake.”

He further pointed out the kind of cordial relationship he shared with the former Biafra’s warlord, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu. He then made it known that if Biafra had gone out then, he doesn’t think Nigeria would have been a better place now.
