It is very sad to think that some of Nigerian political leaders could be happy beneficiaries of the rising spate of civil unrest occasioned by lack of vision, political will and sense of responsibility which underscores the ill-fated APC administration since inception.
The incitive statements recently credited to both Governor Hope Uzodimma and the Minister of Labour and Productivity Chief Chris Ngige over APC’s diabolic intentions towards the forthcoming Anambra State gubernatorial election is to say the least quite unbecoming of the two public officers.
Most worrisome was that of Chris Ngige who was quoted to have said that the “APC will take over the state with both seen and unseen forces”. Recall that the defunct administration of Chris Ngige as Governor of Anambra State was characterized by scores of violent incidents as long as it lasted. Does his unguarded political remarks be suggesting a comeback of such dark days? God forbid!
Could people who are close to the APC minister remind him that Ndi Anambra would no longer tolerate reintroduction of violence and mayhem in the state again. It has become imperative for the security agencies, Igbo leaders and traditional leaders to call Chief Chris Ngige to order before he plunge Anambra State into another round of political violence and civil disturbances.
Every Tom, Dick and Harry in the state knows that PDP remains the party to beat since APGA has abandoned the party according to Dr Winston Ndubueze Udeh while addressing party men and journalists recently. If they are planning to use institutions of government to rob Anambra like they were alleged to have done in Imo and some other states, it will be in their best interest to drop such pipedream because it can never work here in Anambra State.
Politicians should stop acting God just because the citizens rejected them based on character, questionable antecedents and disposition to good and people oriented governance. It is important to note that the decision of PDP to embrace a peaceful transition from APGA to PDP government should not be regarded as an act of weakness because still waters run deep…
