Workers day: Expose leakages, ghost workers, Gov Lalong tasks workers

                          

Plateau state Governor Simon Lalong has tasked workers to expose leakages and ghost workers to enable Government pay the N30,000 minimum wage in the state.

The Governor tasked the workers Wednesday at the Workers day celebration held at the Jos Wrang Pam township stadium.

He said: “it behooves on you, to as a matter of prudence, expose all leakages and bring to bear ghost workers.”

Represented by Head of the State civil service, Mr. Izam Azi, Lalong said by so doing the state would have more resources at its disposal to take care of the worker’s needs.

“We have at the moment paid some funds for the acquisition of Land for civil service housing scheme and all other processes for the development have reached advance level,” he said.

Similarly, the workers in Plateau State said, they are appreciative of Governor Simon Lalong’s prompt payment of Salaries in the state.

The workers through the State Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Eugene Manji, said: “We commend Mr. Governor for the prompt payment of workers salary, payment of no ‘work no pay, ‘ payment of 2012 leave transport allowances among other several issues inherited by his administration.”
