You Can’t Suspend Me, Niger Commissioner Tells LGA APC

Few days after being declared suspended by the Paikoro Local Government chapter of the All Progressive Congress (APC), a female member of Governor Abubakar Sani Bellos’ cabinet, Mrs. Amina Gua’ar has declared that she was not suspended because the party at the local government level has no powers to suspend her.

Mrs. Amina Musa Gua’ar, the state Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development declared on Tuesday in a statement made available to journalists in Minna, “I am not suspended”.

As a member of the APC Board of Trustees (BOT), Amina Musa, a legal practitioner before joining the Governor Bello administration said it was ‘practically impossible for a local chapter of the party to say I have been suspended’.

The commissioner told the people behind the claims, “I am a Board of Trustees member, there are channels to follow they should have written a letter to the zone and the state the state will then constitute a committee to look into the matter, they did not do any of this”.

Amina Musa who also oversees the federal government’s school feeding programme in Niger however said she would not join issues with those behind the suspension claims because they were being driven by envy.

According to the Commissioner, “I do not want to join issues with the people in my local government that are behind the report that I have been suspended from the APC because they were driven by envy”.

She also told her detractors, “It is all envy when you are consumed by envy there is nothing you cannot do just to destroy someone but no amount of gang up and crowd you may have mustered can defeat the wishes of God”.

Since her appointment, Amina said some people from a section of her local government have been very uncomfortable that they have resorted to all manner of blackmail and character assassination against her.

Amina who attributed her rising profile to divinely favoured said, “Someone from the minority area has been appointed a Commissioner, they are also not happy that that somebody is a woman, they have been doing everything to bring me down but God is not on their side”.

While debunking claims that she engaged in anti party activities during the just concluded general elections, Amina Musa said, ‘in the 11 wards in Paikoro, I was able to deliver all 7 including her immediate constituency’.

She said, “While my accusers who claimed that I engaged in anti party activities did not win any of the wards in their areas, I delivered the Governor in my part of Paikoro, the noise makers who think they can embarrass me did not deliver, who should be accused of anti-party activities?

The Commissioner said her grouse with some members of the APC executive in Paikoro local government is due to their refusal to refund election mobilization fund after the Presidential election was postponed.

“As party leader, I demanded that they refund the monies advanced to them to mobilise our agents and others but they refused I don’t think this is right if the project was not executed we should get the money back or at worse part of it”, he declared.

Amina who said she was yet to involve state APC leadership in the matter vowed to take legal action, ‘against those out to tarnish my reputation. My integrity is very important I have worked tirelessly to add value to Niger state I will not allow anyone to drag my name into the mud”..
